The Hand of Charon is one of the four Primordial weapons and a wonder weapon featured in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. It can be obtained on the map Ancient Evil.

Overview

The Hand of Charon, like the other Primordial weapons, is derived from a Primordial god, in this case being Charon, the ferryman of Hades in the underworld.

The Hand of Charon will shoot a three small blobs of blood magic that auto-target, which will manifest into a portal in the ground, which will cause zombies to be dragged into the Underworld. With the Redeemed and Exalted Hand of Charon, the player can charge the weapon to create a large pool of blood on the ground, which will attract more zombies.

Fallen Hand

Step 1

In order to obtain the Hand of Charon, the player must first locate a Dormant Hand around the map, which the Oracle will provide a cryptic clue to a location of one when visiting her after activating the Sentinel Artifact. The player will know the Dormant Hand is there when they can see a small part of the map that is producing purple particles. Once the player finds this part, melee the area, and the weapon will be shown to pick up. The hints and locations are as follows:

The next hints are located on the other half of the map, where Pack-a-Punch is:

Step 2

Once the player obtains a Dormant Hand, the player must bring it to the Shrine of Charon in Python Pass and place it on the shrine. The player will be condensed in a small circular barrier and must survive until the barrier disappears. The Fallen Hand of Charon can now be grabbed from the shrine.

Redeemed Hand

Step 1

Once acquiring the Fallen Hand of Charon, the player must go to the River of Sorrows and get kills with the Fallen Hand in the water in front of the Odin statue. Once the player has gotten enough kills, the player will be prompted to "drink from the River of Sorrow." Upon drinking the water, the player will now have a red effect on the edge of their screens and they will not be able to regenerate health. The player must now search for three of Charon's Obols, that are scattered around this side of the map, which will be highlighted by the vision and can be seen through walls if close enough. The player will encounter several fake obols, which the player can extinguish in order to help find the real obols. The player will know that they have a correct Obol when they see a prompt to "Obtain Charon’s Obol." If the player goes down in this state, they will need to drink from the River of Sorrow again.

Step 2

Once all three obols are found, the player can bring them to the Shrine of Charon, which will allow the player to teleport to the Shadow's Bank. The player will be given the Redeemed Hand of Charon and unlimited ammo to kill zombies. Once enough zombies are killed, the player will be teleported back to the map with the Redeemed Hand of Charon.

Exalted Hand

To start obtaining the Exalted Hand of Charon, make sure to first have the Redeemed Hand of Gaia, Redeemed Hand of Hemera, and Redeemed Hand of Ouranos.

Step 1

The player will need to light the Eternal Flame by completing Trials and claiming an Epic and Legendary reward.

With the Eternal Flame lit up, the player must pull out Apollo's Will and melee the Eternal Flame to make the spear catch on fire. Going outside to the left of the Eternal Flame and looking up the player will see a large bowl on top of a pillar. The player will need to aim slightly above the top of the bowl and throw the spear to light the bowl on fire.

Step 2

The player needs to kill a specific Catalyst Zombie in the circle at each Shrine. The kills are as follows:

Once the player has killed a catalyst at a Shrine, they will need to get zombie kills near that Shrine to collect souls. The player will need about 10 and they'll know when they are done once souls stop going into the Shrine.

Step 3

The final step is to take one of the Hands and go interact with Pack-A-Punch to initiate the Primordial God's Challenges. Unlike upgrading to the Redeemed Hand, the player doesn't have unlimited ammo, but can use their full arsenal. There are four challenges the player must complete, but they will be teleported back to the map after completing each one. The Challenges are as follows:

After completing the Challenge of Charon, the player will then be able to Pack-A-Punch any Hand, bringing it to its Exalted form, and increasing ammo as well as damage.
